HackVerse serves as a platform to encourage enthusiastic minds to brainstorm on solutions for challenging issues from all over India. The unified motive of gathering all like-minded hackers to our alma mater, is what led to the creation of the idea in NITK Surathkal, the first of its kind. Weâll provide a platform for innovations, where developers can test and showcase their potential to the best of their abilities. The hackathon will also have keynotes & workshops from executives from the industry.
National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) is one of the premier engineering institutions in the country. Situated near Mangalore along the coast of the Arabian Sea, NITK is home to some of the brightest young minds of the country engaged in a wide array of disciplines. With a vibrant and robust student body, NITK has been the launchpad for people with great ideas that have grown to be very successful ventures including Practo, Perpule, SaveMonk among others. This year, we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee. To commemorate 60 years of NITK, we aim to gather all like minded hackers to our own institute.
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established âMHRDâs Innovation Cell (MIC)â to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years. HackVerse with this hackathon aims to fulfill the same vision of MHRD's Innovation Cell.
